Will the 86 K100 tank fit on an 87 K75s?

I have an 87 K75s, need to replace the tank.  Heard through the grapevine that the K100 tank will fit if I intend to remove the fairing, basically that the mounting points are the same.  The above link is to the particular tank on ebay that I'm trying to purchase.  Feedback is appreciated.

Could be some problem with the battery cover mountings, as it's different.

On the 87 K75 there are two places of connection; at the rear the two joints that go into the holes and the two tabs at the front that slide under the "rollers", there is not a battery flap (I think that's what you're referring to?), the good thing is I don't see that on the 86 K100 either.

A good way to find out what will interchange is to go to realoem.com.  Once there find the part number that fits your bike.  After you find the part number cut and paste it into the Part NR Application Search that it on the first screen.  I believe it is also on other screens.  This procedure will give you a list of all bikes that use the same part.
2018 R1200RT 8,000 miles,2004 R1150RT 189,000 miles
1991 K100LT 128,700 miles,1982 R100RT 106,900 miles
The cheapest thing on a BMW is the nut that connects the seat to the handlebars.

It's the frontmost mounting that is different....on K75's it's two hooks that grabs the seam on the
underside of the tank....on K100's it's a tab welded to the tank.
The exeption is K75RT which has a K100 tank.

For the record part came in, did the install this morning.  Wow! after taking this part on and off 4 or 5 times I'm a pro at this procedure, it took less than 15 minutes.  It fit!  WooHoo!  Added bonus is there was a working fuel level ball in the new/used tank, didn't have one in my old tank.  So no longer popping the tank open to do a visual inspection for fuel or shaking it and sensing how much sloshes from side to side, though I will use those methods as the first test.  Up and riding for the holidays.  Thanks for the feedback.  I will be closing this thread in a short while.
