Hello from Dublin, Ireland. Also a fairing question!
« on: June 14, 2015, 06:14:08 AM »
Hello All,

New K75c owner from Dublin. Picked up the bike yesterday from a shop that specialises in "Fixer Uppers" :) unforunately got 20 minutes down the road for petrol and the bike would'nt start :(. I won't hold it against the K, it has a great reputation for reliability im sure it is just teething issues from sitting for a while.

My other bike is a Honda Bros 400 and I'm hoping having 2 bikes on the road will allow me the ability to work on one of them without needing to put everything back together the next day!

With that in mind I wonder could you fine people help me identify the type of fairing that my new K75 has, as it is missing the windshield and I would like to get one. Any pictures of a K75c does not posses this fairing, and in fact im not sure Ive seen ANY K bikes with this fairing, however it could be because the missing windshield makes it look so different:

Thanks in advance and I look forward to getting more answers from you guys in the near future

Welcome to the forum. The fairing is a Sprint. Google Sprint fairing K75 and you will see some other examples, or go to http://cjdeng.co.uk/R100R_SPRINT.html

wow it sounds like sourcing a windshield might be difficult?

You will be very lucky to find one to buy, you may have to try cutting and bending one yourself. Plenty of Internet advice on forming polycarbonate to shape but you are going to need a big oven or a very good technique with a heat gun.

I got onto the crowd who are called Triumph Parts or something to that affect. They have told me £100 for the screen, im going to hold off and get it if I manage to keep saving on repairs i.e the issues the bike has turn out to be cheap fixes.

Just be sure you are talking the same language to the Triumph parts people because Sprint Fairings had nothing to do with the Triumph Sprint as far as I know.

Yes sir, purely coincidence. They must have moved their focus onto triumph parts but still have the mouldings for the sprint fairing and do windshields on request.

Welcome too.

My son sold his 88 Bros a few weeks ago, had it 6 years and I loved using it too but the K is in a different league.

We had a K75 with us in France in the summer. Belongs to a friend here and he is going down next month to ride it back. Left it with some friends down there for a quick return trip later in the year.

Motorworks and Motobins are good for parts for the Ks.

Ah I shall never sell my Bros, some things just cant be parted with.. especially after spending 60% of the value of the bike on a rear shock  :riding:. Although after using the K75 for a couple of weeks im seriously looking into putting the Africa Twin 750 lump into it to keep it competitive!

Hi Davedrave,

Why don't you come down to Stradbally Fayre on Tuesday 29 December?

We brick riders have a Christmas Brunch going, meet up at 11am and part about 1pm so anyone who wants to ride has daylight and gets home in time for family things. Excellent breakfast and I provide the Christmas pudding which Stradbally Fayre happily serves up to all of us. Its joust down by Portlaoise, exit M8 for Carlow and its about 10km down on the left as you come into Stradbally.

A few K75 owners there, we had one in France in the summer.

Did you sort the non start problem ok?
