More water pump questions... noisey
« on: June 22, 2011, 11:52:53 AM »
I can't remember why I did this, I think I was curious about the unique K bike noises.........  (I'm used to alot of scary clanging and banging, tappity Brit bike noises)  Anyhow, I was using a stick, and listening to parts of the engine, and the water pump makes a rumble grinding noise that is probably not so good.    :-\ Should I get moving on a replacement now, or is that sort of normal?

Is it leaking?
The water side seal is a ceramic faced mechanical seal. I suppose if you are trying to listen to it with a stethoscope you might hear something, but I'd bet you are just hearing other noises resonating from elsewhere with the engine running.

Any idea the last time the cooling system was drained and flushed?
