Wiring in USB adaptor - where is a good spot?

Hello Motobrickers,
I've purchased one of these USB adaptors (similar to the one here:
http://img.etobuy.biz/w13/x7/p42/v356_1.jpg
) to wire in. The one I've got has two USB ports. I'm planning on running my GPS and charging my phone from it. I suppose I could wire it directly into the battery, but I figure it'd be better if it were only operational when the electrical system is powered on.
Any suggestions where I should wire this in?
If you're thinking, "why doesn't he just get an adaptor for the several mini cigarette lighter adaptors all over the bike?", well, I would do exactly this, but I don't have enough time to wait for shipping before I leave on my trip.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Mount on the coil cover in the spot reserved for the power adapter. Wire it into a switched circuit within the relay box.

I wired my USB adapter to the switched power leads on the plug in the relay box reserved for the BMW alarm.
The same alarm plug also has unswitched leads for 24/7 12v power.

Thanks Tim,
I'll have a look at this today. Do I need to take out the seat mechanism, battery, computer, etc to get to the relay box? I just put it all back together; hoping I don't have to disassemble it again! :dunno2:

Probably just lift the seat off and remove the tank. Tank can be easy depending on your fairing.

Hi Tim,
I'm assuming that by that plug, you're referring to the lower-most roundish one featured in this photo/diagram ("anti-theft connector"):
Could you tell me from your experience which are the correct leads to use? I suppose I could figure this out myself with a multimeter, but I figured I'd ask!
Thanks for your help.

Old topic but.. Just tested this 4-PIN connector with multimeter. Brown + brown/green was 12V when power is on. What i the best type of connector to take out power for USB from anti theft 4-pin connector?
