The bike just turned over 40K miles. But before we put on our birthday hats and head to the twisties, I noticed my radiator fan not working( on a lunch date through atlanta traffic). On my way home I noticed that It hasn't turned on since i put everything back together this spring and finished my roadwork, she got a little hot in stop and go traffic and my temp light can on for a minute until i got going and could cool her down. I know the radiator fan motors are notorious for failure on our bricks, I plan to replace that as the first probable cause. While I am down there I might as well change out all my hoses and whatnot. So my question is: does anyone use the SAMCO hose kit on their brick and how often do you check your fluid levels and top off? I have read that the Silicone hoses are great for longer duration use, Higher temps, and greater pressure but are also semi permeable to water. Should I order some new rubber hoses... or has someone had some great experience with samco hoses on their brick? Trying to get a parts list so I can order all my stuff.

The last time I did a full replacement of engine rubber stuff, I went with OEM. It had lasted just fine for 15yrs+. That seems like a pretty good track record to me......

If you need to replace the fan motor, Summit Racing has the Bosch 0 130 007 027 (from the Alternate Parts List) fairly cheap:

Thanks for the link Rob. scott, the OEM ones are just so damn expensive for all the hoses and rubber gaskets from BMW. I checked Beemer boneyard and they don't have a set of coolant hoses. any ideas?
