FS on Ebay: 1991 K1 (SOLD-$2,500 US)
« on: April 21, 2015, 03:08:46 AM »
Right now there is a K1 in New York with a 2k bid on it that has met the reserve. It has about 68k miles and looks repainted but otherwise looks good. About 18 hrs left on the auction.

Sorry no link, working from smartphone ebay app. Also, I do not know the seller personally. Sellers Ebay username is FamousK1.

Bike is local pick-up only...otherwise I'd be keeping it to myself. ;)

That is the bike, thank you, billday. :2thumbup:

Hope this bike goes to one of the members here at Motobrick. Would try for it myself but schedule won't allow for me to go put and pick it up. Another month and a half and the schedules clear...... oh well, just the universe tellingme that it is not the right time.

Yep, sold for $2,500 US. Hope someone on here got it.

My significant other was threatening me with dagger stares if I bid on this one. Says I have to finish getting my 100rs 4v put back together before I try for another bike.

Each time I get another bike, I get the same response from the wife. I don't bother asking since I know she'll just say no. I just buy them and explain what a good deal I got after the fact. In time you just learn that she'll never approve anyway. Life is to short to worry about it. When I bought my K1200RS this January, I had a hole week of enjoyment in peace and quiet before she noticed the money was gone. The K1 was tempting, but I kept reminding myself how tight the peg position is on one of those and how much my hips would complain.

I am lucky guy who bought the bike. I have had a few oilhead R bikes in the past (and just sold my Guzzi 1200 sport ) but this is my first K. I really couldn't believe I won the auction for $2500. I am driving from Minneapolis to pick it up next weekend.
After winning the auction I was surfing around doing some research and ran across this site and was surprised to see a thread about my new bike!

when i rode a k1... couldnt unfold my knees after about a hundert mile run... stopped next to a picnic table and rested my knee on the bench... eventually somebody came by and pushed the kick stand down for me... not even the rack could stretch me out after that...

Good luck with the K1.  The bike looks well cared for; you DEFINITELY got a good deal. A little routine maintenance and safe travels!

There are plenty of K sites to get information and help.

Hello mabs,

:welcome to Motobrick and congratulations on your new (to you) ride. :2thumbup:

Can't tell you how tempted I was to throw out a bid of $3k, but I need to spend money on a larger home (...garage  :yes) so that I can take better care of what I already own. Also, getting spare parts out of the S.O.'s way will make for enhanced domestic bliss. :yes
Still, something in my Texas upbringing has me twitching over the fact that I let a K1 go for a $100 less than I bought my K100rs 4v. :bang-head:  :giggles

From your post, it sounds like the K1 is going to someone that will care for her proper like. Your list of previous bikes kinda hints at such.  Hope she gives you many trouble free miles of riding and maybe I'll see you down the road.

Too cool, good luck with it.

I always thought you're suppose to do the research before buying. [emoji38]

You are in for a real treat. I also have had many R bikes but pulled the trigger on a 1994 K1100RS w/ 22,000 mile on the coldest day of the winter. The sound alone is absolutely addicting! Enjoy!
