Hi, first post! I have an '84 K100 that has been sitting forlorn in my shed for over 3 years. I have been taken by this cafe racer trend and thought I might resurrect the old girl into something a bit funky. My spanner knowledge is limited so I have joined this forum and have had a good read.. Couple of questions I hope some members may help me with....

Front brakes. 3 years ago they worked great, now - no pressure. Took the MC apart, full of brown crud. Once cleaned everything looks good, see pic. Bore is good too. Reassembled and put in fresh fluid after attempting to flush via bleeders. Primed system from head stem using syringe. Now cannot get any pressure at all, seem to have tried every which way with bleeding but to no avail. Have looked at rebuild kits but my piston looks as good as new,( do the washers compress?). System does not seem to be leaking anywhere. New MC?
In the past due to periodic riding I have suffered the contacts welding together because of a low battery, I have pulled the relay apart several times but may be time for new one. Best place for purchase? I am in Australia, but for these things US prices always seems best.

What start up procedure would you recommend to get her ticking over again, new plugs, fresh fuel, anything else?

Thanking you

There's a very tiny hole between the reservoir and MC cylinder that may be blocked.  It requires a 30GA wire to be poked down the hole to clear any debris.  That might solve the problem.

Head over to the k100-forum.com site.  Many Aussies and Kiwis frequent that board.  If you post your question there, you might get a local answer to your question.

Thanks RBM, no one else mentioned that little hole , it took a bit of clearing but it seems it allowed some of the trapped air to bubble up when I pumped the brakes. I now have brakes.
Cheers
