The BMU and LED tail light and brake lights
« on: March 31, 2015, 10:06:00 PM »
I cut pin 7 in the BMU to install LED turn signal lights.  Works great!

Now that pin 7 is cut can I also install and LED bulb for the tail light and brake light and not get the fault light on the instrument cluster?

If you use the Kisan SM-6 unit (which I have) can you then use LED lights for the tail light and brake light and not get the fault light on the instrument cluster?

Thanks all for the help in advance.

Do you mean that you cut pin 7 on the IC in the flasher unit, not the BMU?

If you want LED tail lights and no warning on the dash, you'll have to remove the BMU altogether.  Remember that you are disabling a safety feature of the bike and it's not recommended.  Instructions for performing the mod is here:

You are correct sorry for my confusion, it was the flasher unit, not the BMU.
