front tire size?
« on: March 31, 2015, 10:32:17 AM »
Ok this is my first post...so forgive me if this topic has already been covered.
I need new tires on the 85 K100 LT I just acquired seems like i have more choice(bias ply) if I move up a size on the front (100 to 110)
Am I ok putting a 110 on the front?
Also a lot of talk about changing to radials and going off recommended size......should I consider that and if that's a good thing
what size radials work?
Just getting back in the saddle so need the advice!

I am getting Pirelli Sport Demons put on my K75 right now. They are a bias tire, but I was happy with them on my Yamaha and they come in the correct size for the K75. I'm not sure about changing the tire size and what options are available in radial tires.

Thanks Doug, I'm thinking about Pirelli's as well (I had them on my old bike) I did want the V rated so that put me into a 110 rather than the 100.
I have heard that that increasing the size by 10mm is not a problem unless someone tells me otherwise. Anybody have any experience with this?

How much clearance do you have between the existing tire and the forks?  I figure you need at least 10mm per side to safely go to a 110 size.

i will measure but it seems to have lots of room between tire and fender tab which is the closest thing.

I would have to get up off my ass to check, but I think I have a 110 on the front of my 75RT.  Don't know if it carries over to your bike because there are several different forks and triple clamps used so the clearance might be different between our bikes.

I am getting Pirelli Sport Demons put on my K75 right now.

Hi dougrs,

I'm looking for tires for my K75 and seems the choices are really limited for the rear. How are you liking your Sport Demons? Thanks,

I think they are very good tires. I have them on both of my bikes. I ride in all conditions and have had not issues. They seem to wear OK. I would buy them again.
