Headlight relay mod
«
on:
March 19, 2015, 10:00:25 PM »
All of the below should get me fixed up doing the relay mod for a more efficient/brighter headlight one way or another..... BUT,
one mod uses a
AR266 Accessory Relay
and some wiring pigtails were made up.
My question is has anyone came up with a plug'in and play for this little mod?
No big deal but I thought I'd ask.

I have two Eastern Beaver harnesses. Nicest looking wiring for a bike I've ever seen. The quality of the work should make them outlive the bike.

+2 Eastern Beaver relay setup.
I have them on both my bikes.
The only part that is not plug/play is the source +12 power and the ground, other wise the headlamp connections are plug/play.

I just bought a couple of relays from Autozone and used some extra wire to rig mine up. It's been fine for 25k miles.

I installed Jim's kit (Eastern Beaver) on my K100. It's worth it just to see his meticulous work.
On my Yamaha I installed the Matchbox headlight relay from C U Layer. (Go to this page and scroll down:
http://culayer.com/products.htm
). It's very tidy and well made, but it's not weatherproof like the Eastern Beaver. I put mine inside the headlight bucket. (Note that the info link doesn't lead anywhere, but if you email the guy he'll make one up for you. Or at least that's how it worked for me.)

i used eastern beaver rig on my 85 RS, really well made assembly and a "plug and play".
On my 94 LT i purchased a couple relays from radio shack and wired it myself.
tons of info on forum for which ever way you decide to go.
