Where to order parts?

Hey guys,

New to the forum here and pretty new to K-bikes. Have a 1988 K100 LT that I stripped down into a cafe racer.

Anyway, I have the tranny out to service the splines and found a bit of weepage in the bell housing. I also found that my clutch pressureplate (the one with the pins) has some serious hotspots and is a bit warped.

Couple questions here.

1. Is there a good location to order parts online? I need a friction plate, the o-ring and nut, and rear primary seal.

2. I have access to a lathe, since the clutch assemblies are balanced instead of trying to replace the whole assembly can I just resurface the one pressure plate? The other plate is in good shape. I'm assuming if I only take a few thou off that I can make up the difference in adjustment at the clutch pushrod right? (I am thinking about that correctly aren't I?)

Anyway good news is the splines all look to be in great shape and the bike runs like a dream. Noticed some false neutrals on downshifts and low and behold the tranny input shaft and clutch had almost no grease left on em so hopefully it's all getting taken care of with this service.

Is there anything else that I might as well replace while I've got the tranny out? Clutch cable maybe? And if so can someone point me towards a site where I might be able to order some of these parts...or am I gonna need to find a dealership?

I have had good luck buying new parts from these guys.  Their parts fiches make finding and ordering what you need really easy.  Good communication and reasonable shipping charges.

The part I mention in the OP that has the burn marks is number 6 labeled "Housing Cover"  Should this be a concern? The actual pressure plate (according to their dialogue) is not warped but has minimal burn marks. If I can avoid spending $500 on those to parts combined that would be fantastic.

I live in Western New York and their Flat Rate Priority mail usually gets to me within 3 days of placing an order.  When they have to go to BMW N.A. for stuff they don't have in stock it can add maybe a week.

Can't comment on your parts, but maybe Inge can add some of his knowledge here. 

As you can probably see, you will need parts #7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 for proper reassembly.

In the UK as the website address indicates, is a great place to order bricks' and other beemers' parts. The people there know their stuff. Also, if ordering from outside the European Union, there tax (VAT) free.
