Parabellum K75RT Windshield
« on: December 13, 2014, 04:05:41 PM »
Hi all... I am wondering if the "Parabellum K100RT-LT-K75RT Windshield System" windshield comes pre-drilled with the mounting holes? I have a new custom made windshield for my 1991 K75RT but I'll have to drill the mounting holes, and am wodering if it wouldn't be easier to just order one from Parabellum. Thanks in advance for any answers...

Hi folks and thanks for your replies. The one I'm looking at is http://parabellum.com/K100RT-LT-K75RT-Windshield-System-P4.aspx and is the 18" tinted version. As I mentioned in my first post, I have all the original hardware to mount a new windshield, but really don't want to drill and form those rectangular mounting holes unless absolutely necessary!

Thanks, that's what I'll do, just thought someone here would have the info, but that's OK, will contact Parabellum on Monday...

December 17 Update:

...Parabellum replied that that specific system is predrilled, and is the two piece system. First piece bolts to the original cowl using original holes, second piece bolts to that and is adjustable to change air flow for noise, etc.

Thanks all for your responses...

Just a quick update, ordered the windshield yesterday, and shipping to Red Deer is only $41, so a bonus!

I put a Parabellum on my RT and found it cut the buffeting I had from the OEM almost to nothing.Very happy with the decision.   Easy install just don't over tighten the mounting plate.
You can't help someone who doesn't want to hear the answer.

Hi all...
Just an update, the windshield is installed and works great, I decided on the clear rather than the tinted. It is a 2 piece unit which has a base that replaces the original base, plus the windshield itself and all mounting screws and washers. I would recommend the Parabellum alternative to anyone looking for a BMW K75RT replacement windshield... By the way, I don't work for Parabellum!

Just bought a used one on eBay for $20.  Should be here in a week or so.  Looking forward to seeing how it works.

bumping a REALLY old thread as this is specifically on topic.

I recently purchased a new 20" clear windshield from Parabellum to go on my existing base. $139 which I think included delivery. Made to order and fits perfectly. They will make them in 16", 18", and 20" in clear or I believe tinted.

Brenda at Parabellum was great. bikes@syclone.net , 706-864-8051.

If you'd like a Parabellum for your RT and don't mind a used base, there is one currently on eBay. I've been watching this one for a while... $22.40 delivered. My hoarder-sense needs to stop.

Yes those folks are the best! Had to replace it again 2 years ago (flying boulders) and they sent just the windshield but threw in a few extra mounting screws. The raised inlet at bottom center really does a good job of allowing some vent air to come through, plus definitely helps with buffeting...

Thumbs up on Parabellum (I would add a graphic but most don't work with a Mac)  :Johnny

My 1991 R100RT had a Parabellum on it when I bought it but it always seemed to be a bit high with the top right about eye-level.  Rather than taking the chance on cutting it myself I called about ordering just the windscreen a size shorter.  It is now perfect where I can look over the top and avoid any buffeting.

Good company to deal with!
