Howdy!
« on: December 05, 2014, 03:51:35 AM »
G'day from the "other" Down Under, New Zealand!

As you might guess from my username and topic greeting, I'm from Montana, but moved to NZ last January.

I just bought a 1986 K75S and have been reading a lot about K bikes on this forum and figured I might as well join. The bike is in fantastic shape, the previous owner was somewhat of a fanatic nut about keeping it clean and in good repair.

That being said, I did find that the rear master cylinder was leaking a bit. After taking it apart I found pitting too bad to polish out, so a new one was needed. Well, NZ is just a BIT off the beaten track and there were NONE in the country. The dealer could order one from Germany for $370  (yeah, LOTS of stuff here is 2 to 3 times the price it would be in the US). So I ordered one from the US, faster and cheaper, even with shipping.

I'll be putting it on this weekend and will be getting the ol' girl back on the road soon! Good thing too, Summer is just beginning (we're opposite from the other half of the world down here) and there's SO many places to go explore!

Welcome and enjoy your upcoming summer in New Zealand...

I am guessing there are wonderful country roads on which to ride in your area.
