New Owner, Older Bike, in N. Al.
« on: October 15, 2014, 11:34:25 PM »
Hi guys,
I picked up an '88 K75C the other day.  It was rode hard, 51K miles, and put up broke.  I got it for less than the value of the parts that were on it.... and it runs and rides!  But it needs some fixes for sure.  I'll be posting some questions on here as I learn about it.  My history is long and storied, so for short, let's just say I've been riding and working on bikes since '73, and owned over 30 bikes in that time, dirt and street.  Still have 7-8 in various states of ridability.

This is my second European bike, but this is my first BMW.  I can see keeping this one as long as I kept the '80 GS850.
Pluses, it feels lighter in weight, slightly smaller feel to it, has comparable power, seems to have light handling, is smooth and quiet, and really looks like it was well kept until an accident took it off-line.  So I'm working my way thru the electrics and choice of a fairing right now.  Watch out, I'll be posting turn signal questions........ .
