Hey everyone!
I just got a very cherry 1992 K75C. Absolutely love it.
I rode a flying brick (86 K75) as a daily ride for the past three years. My favorite bike ever. But let's not talk about the dead, let's focus on the living!
My thoughts so far (after about 200+ miles).
1) damn, I miss the Michelin Radials from my old ride. There's a Metzler in front and a Dunlop in the rear. My #1 question for you is about remedying this.
2) I'm not sure I'm fond of the feel of tank shroud (feels more plastic than rubber), but I love the look of it!
3) I definitely miss my Corbin Gunslinger seat from the old ride, I actually dig the lift off stylin of the C seat, and may order a lift off version of the dual saddle from Corbin. The big Con to that is I don't like the look of the bike without the shroud or the side covers
4) does the C stand for conundrum? Just kidding
5) I'm all smiles about this bike, but there's definitely some customization in order to get it set up just right for me.
My number one question for you guys is if I can run the Avon radials on the stock rear rim. The internet is inconsistent on this. Some say you can't without running a 3X17 wheel. Others say they are doing it already with no problem. What's the story? I'd love to put a set of Avons on this baby, pronto. I'm talking about the Azar 140/80/17 for the rear and the Storm in front.
If it's not possible and a wheel swap is required, what's the most painless option? This has the 17" rear with the disc brake (non-abs). 18" front with dual discs.
I'm Rob, I'm happy to meet you all.
