K75 police solo seat assembly
« on: August 11, 2014, 06:57:19 PM »
I just picked up a 'officials utility bench seat/radio telephone box' set up for my K75C. I use this bike as a solo commuter and wanted the additional storage with out adding city cases so I thought this was the route to go. Anyone done this swap over without actually buying a former police service bike? Hoping someone has any tips or 'watch fors'. Thanks.

I've swapped out OEM dual seats for Police seats - no issues.

Thanks beachcomber. The fiche shows me a lot of bits. Don't know if I have everything so I'll mock it up and see.

That sounds interesting. Is that hard to find? Expensive? If you happen to have any pictures could you post them. Thanks in advance. I'm always on the hunt for a seat option. The cost of repairing my Corbin is $250+ and my plan now is to upholster it myself.

Can do. I'll post some pics of the units and then mocked up. I don't know how often this set up gets put up for sale. I got a screamin' deal (I believe it is anyway) from a fellow K rider in British Columbia. $200 Cdn for everything. He had it listed on ibmwr and said he took a lot of calls from interested US parties but shipping made it prohibitive.

Police seats in the UK go for as little as £30 !!! I paid £10 for one with a tear [ being re-covered anyway ] and an excellent condition one for £25.
