WTB: first generation hard case key #52
« on: July 30, 2014, 01:18:18 PM »
I bought my k75s a few months ago and the previous owner informed me, to my dismay, that this particular model of case could not be locked.  how sad.

I found out last night that he was wrong!  :yow

I looked at my cases and, of course, they don't match.  One uses #58 and one uses #52.  I found the #58 key at MAX BMW.... actually, I found it on ebay for $25 and was just about to bite the bullet when I realized I could get it from MAX for half the price!

Still looking for the #52 key.  Any suggestions?  Part number appears to be 51250418962 NLA SDL-BAG KEY 052

It is possible to rekey your locks. It might be in the Liebary.

Check my recent thread about my search for a 042 key. There's a workaround which includes having a locksmith match an Ilco blank to a picture of whichever key. New latches with keys are still available too.

thanks for the replies.  I know there are work-around options out there, but turns out the easiest route was successful.

Found one at re-psycle BMW

I can't believe how fast I got the key from re-psycle.  I ordered it Thursday and it arrived Saturday!

The other key from MAX BMW is on backorder from somewhere ...

FYI, the key from repsycle was $31 with shipping.  From MAX it was $13 with shipping.
