ProGrip Model 699 Grip Rubbers

These were on my K75RT when I bought it and I think they're great grips.  It's the first thing I install when I get a K bike.  Much more comfortable than the hard OEM grips - even barehanded. (I do usually ride with gloves though.)  They work well with heated grips too, both OEM and aftermarket.  They don't seem to wear either so will probably last the life of your bike.

They are about $8 a pair and in stock at many MC shops.  They come in both open- and closed-ended styles so if you're ordering online then be sure to get the right ones for your bike.

Note that the pair come for "normal" handlebars where the throttle is a tube and the clutch is just a handlebar so they have different inner diameters.  This means that if you have OEM heated grips that one of them will be fatter when installed.  Either that or just buy two pair and use both of the throttle ones.

Oh man, no kidding... these grips are great! I have the oem heated grips on my k100, and the diameter for both sides is 24mm. However, the pro grips come in 24 and 22mm. I used the 24 for the throttle and the 22 for the clutch side. I lubricated the clutch side heated grip with the blue bottle of liquid wrench lubricant (a.k.a. wd40) and it slid it in perfectly. Once the lubricant dries up, it should be tight enought to stay in place. No need to buy two sets.

Try a cheap can of hair spray.  Serves as a lubricant to get them on and then sets up to keep them in place.

Isopropyl alcohol (propanol -2) CH3CHOHCH3 is your friend.

Apply a copious amount for lubrication, read NO fuss NO muss, dries neat and clean.  

FWIW, I had problems with my heated grips loosening on the throttle side.  A thin coat of "hi-temp" red ATV finally did the job of holding it fast.
