Small crash, now no brake light?
« on: June 30, 2014, 01:47:22 PM »
I got into a low speed crash this weekend, came into an exit too hot, saw the curb, braked to about 12mph (abs kicked in and definitely helped), and hit the curb almost parallel. Bike tipped over and I ended up in the dirt.

My gear worked well, broke my signals, and scratched the fairing/engine block and such.

However, my brake light doesn't work and thats super weird. The tail light does.

Any ideas why that might have happened, and where do I even look???

Try replacing the bulb and check the brake switch on the brake pedal
You can't help someone who doesn't want to hear the answer.

Also check the brake lever on the bars -- there's a switch there that activates when you pull the lever.

The brake lamp has 2 switches, Fr and Rr, so if its broke I'd go for the bulb or the wiring at the lamp: I think you were braking when you hit the kerb, which then says the bulb has blown and nowt else!  :2thumbup:
