***SOLD SOLD SOLD***
1986 BMW K75T
25,973 mi
$xxxxx

This bike has been great to me over the last two years, and I'll be sad to see it go. But after picking up an F650GS for my lady, I found out that gravel roads have a pull on me that I have a hard time resisting. It wasn't long before I picked up a second GS, and now I've got more bikes than riders, and the K75 isn't getting ridden as much as it should.

The "T" model is a nice setup, with engine-mounted crash bars, a tall windscreen, and spacious system cases (tragkorbs). The bike has minimal bodywork (no faring or belly pan as on the RT or S models), which keeps it looking lean and purposeful, and is also makes routine maintenance very convenient. It also has the taller wider handlebars shared with the K75C model, that are well known around these forums as the most comfortable bars for the bike.

Before I bought the K75, it was a barely-ridden garage queen for many years. While I had it, I put some miles on, and I also did a significant amount of maintenance and upgrade work on the bike. You will get copies of all my maintenance records, plus everything I have from previous owners, which seems to be a pretty complete service history. The instruments were replaced in 1990 by Second Wind BMW (have all the paperwork), so total mileage on the bike is 6,136 more than the current odometer reading of 19,837.

Factory toolkit, riders manual, warranty paperwork all included.

While I had it, I went through and preemptively replaced just about every piece of rubber on the bike (vacuum lines, crankcase breather, intake "bushings", fuel lines, rubber fuel pump bushing, foot peg and shift rubbers, all valve cover gaskets). Late last season saw new Metzeler Lasertec tires put on, front and rear.

I also replaced a failed radiator fan motor, and a broken clutch cable, and the bike comes with a brand new spare throttle cable. Fuel filter and air filter are recently replaced as well. I serviced the rear driveshaft splines, and they looked pristine at the time. I lubed them with the recommended 50/50 mix of Honda Moly 60 and SIG 3000 grease, so they should be good to go for a while before their next service. Valves clearances checked out OK at the end of last season just before a Mobil 1 oil and filter change. It's a really cherry bike.

Upgrades include:
- Progressive Suspension 465 rear shock (huge improvement over stock, fully adjustable damping, and plenty of spring rate for two-up touring)
- Added OEM BMW accessory powerlet outlet
- Added OEM BMW 4-way flashers (hazard lights)
- Run'n'lites rear turn signal running light conversion
- 4-position fuse block right next to the factory fuses,
- full-size cigarette lighter outlet (power from accessory fuse block)
- Eastern Beaver headlight relays, both low and hi beam (for much improved headlight output, plus no risk of frying the expensive BMW headlight switch; fed by huge 12 ga wiring, with power from the accessory fuse block)
- Rigid Dually LED driving lights, on a Skene Designs IQ-107 dimmer that's triggered off the high beams. These things throw a ton of light and really help with being seen. NOTE: these lights and dimmer are not included in the above sale price (I can use em on my new bike), but can be yours if you cover the cost of a new set of LED lights for my new ride...super-slick dimmer and installation yours free!
- Mount for Garmin Zumo 550 (power from accessory fuse block).

Plus some uninstalled aftermarket accessories
- Run'n'lites front turn signal conversion
- Progressive suspension front fork springs

And whatever spares I can lay my hands on, including some BMW gearbox/final drive oil that I didn't get around to changing.

This is a ton of bike for the money, the market just grossly undervalues these bikes. I can confidently say you could spend thousands more on a newer bike and get far less. I know first-hand...we had to pay twice as much for my lady's used F650GS thumper, and it's nowhere near the bike that the K75 is.

added factory 4-way flashers

mount for Garmin Zumo 550

New Metzeler Lasertec tires, front and rear

slick, frankenduck-style 4-position accessory fuse block, with some switched fuses; also visible here are the OEM powerlet outlet and a full-size cigarette lighter outlet.

Many more images, including close-ups of every flaw on the bike I could find, in my photobucket gallery

Looks like my embedded youtube video didn't work, so here's a link to the start and run video

Clean title. Cash greatly preferred (its affordable!). Test rides only with cash in hand. Bike is stored in a friend's garage, so a bit of advanced notice is appreciated to arrange a showing.

Can someone give me a reference and source for that extra fuse box, please?

Nice bike, very fair price, but long way from Texas for me to consider it.

Fellow brickers,
I've got some serious interest from an ADVRider inmate from Brooklyn. If you're interested in this ride, contact me ASAP.

Money talks Mac.

Indeed it does. Brooklyn guy wants to place a deposit, but I figured I owe it to the motobrick community to give J O and others a fair shot.

Earlier today, I took a deposit on the bike from a guy in Brooklyn, goes by Chico on ADVRider. He's making plans for a bus-and-ride next Saturday. Sounds like a good dude, and if we close the deal, I will encourage him to introduce himself here on the Front Porch.

If others are interested in the bike, post here, and if the deal falls through for whatever reason, I'll contact you in order. By next Saturday, the bike will either be sold or back on the market.  :deal:

Spectacular bike and give-away price......I didn't see it when posted but Boston is too far for me....
Best of luck...I found an even nicer (my opinion) on Craigslist in Asheville NC with only 11k miles but
the guy is asking $6000.....bummer...only 2 hour drive away..
