My K75 is fitted with a K1100LT paralever backend. I was debugging a different problem on the bike and needed to run the rear wheel under engine power, in gear while on the center stand. Being the first time I've done this, I was concerned when I saw the paralever final drive moving in sympathy with the rotation. It hops in time with what appears to be the lower U-joint changing orientation. I assembled the drive making doubly sure that the drive shaft was phased properly. Afterwards, I double checked to make sure that there was no problems with the pivot bearings; there is no play laterally in the rear wheel.
Is this normal behavior for an unloaded Paralever? Or is this a sign of an impending U-joint failure?
