am i doing this right?
« on: March 17, 2014, 09:51:08 PM »
I've been looking at this sight for a few months. Just purchased a 1985 K100Rt with 21K original miles and recently completed a ride from the central Oregon coast to South Florida and back in from January 15th to February 12th. I clocked 7460 miles with no major issues. What an awesome moto.  :bmwsmile :bmwsmile

Now that's a first ride.

I'll go out on a limb and assume you didn't come across the plains. :mbird

Newport, Oregon down to Los Angeles mostly on I-5 then hooked a left on I-10 and rode over to the Tamiami trail at Tallahasee, Florida and took another right. I went south to Fort Myers shot over to Daytona and up to Jacksonville insuring an actual full length ride of the entire I-10 on my return trip.  I averaged between 800 and 900 miles a day on the K100. Funny thing is, the only place I actually got snowed on was Pensacola, Florida. One of my more favorite accomplishments was riding the entire length of interstate 10 across Texas in one day on my trip home. Not my first coast to coast run but very enjoyable on the 1985 BMW K100 RT. Comfortable solid ride.
