Dual sport tires
« on: January 29, 2014, 05:43:56 PM »
Anyone tried one of the dual sport tires on their 4 valve? I have a new Michelin Anakee 3 that was awaiting a change on my V strom but I am thinking of using it on my K1100. I live on a gravel road and of course my V Strom loved the Anakees and got pretty darn good mileage out of them.
150/80/17 size tires. I would need a different ront of course but thinking a BT023 for that.
Imagine that.

I'd have to say give it a go.

Totally different (in a way) bike, but I'm running strange tyres on my K75.

Front is a BT020f in 110/80-18 on the original Y spoke.
Rear is a MT90 in 150/70-18 mounted on an R1100 3 spoke.

I can't comment on the Anakee, but the MT90 is an absolute revelation - it far outperforms the BT020 in terms of grip on and off road, stable in a straight line and sticky in corners.
