Oregon Newbie.
« on: January 21, 2014, 03:27:33 AM »
Hey everyone! Name's Al, on my second K bike I just picked up about a week ago. 1987 LT in resplendent " Bahama Biege". Not new to beemers, have owned 75/5, R65, R80RT, K100RS. Girlfriend said it was either her or the bikes so I'm single again. Also a student at OSU studying to be Energy Systems Engineer. Also into diesels, have a Jeep Wrangler I stuffed a Cummins 4BT into. So not only do I have "Dieselitis", I have "Multiple Bike Disorder" which I did not know I had until I read it on this site.

Welcome to a fellow K owner and diesel head!  My 4 wheel vehicle is a Landrover Defender with the 2.2 litre diesel Puma motor.  It's the K1100 for the highway and the Deefer for off road - all bases covered!

Is "Multiple Bike Disorder" similar to "GAS" (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome)?

Indeed it is! no known cure and if there was I would refuse treatment. BTW you guys get all the cool diesels and utes down that way. We have to make ours which cuts into our ridin' time. Next time you're this way bring me an "88" please. I'll 4bt that pup in a heartbeat.
