Hi,All,
           I'm a newbie, my name is Ron and i am from Toronto NSW Australia.(dont hold that against me).

I'm new to K Bikes. Had 1985 K100 RT for 6 months and am enjoying riding
it. I Have a problem with it lately as far as starting goes. The starter motor doesn't seem to engage all the time and i have to rock it back and forwards in gear to for it to engage.
The battery is fully charged so that doesn't seem to be the problem.
Can anyone help please?
Regards. Ron

   Hi johnny, thanks for reply, no lights, starter motor or engine doesn't turner over when i press the starter. All i can hear is what sounds like the pump in the petrol tank and a clunk in the power box under the tank. Most times when i rock it in gear it will start, but when i stop it the same as above happens until i rock it again. Regards. Ron

Welcome Ron.
I would start by pulling the starter, taking apart, cleaning all the parts and put it back together exactly the same way it came apart.  It's a pretty easy job.  If you search the site there probably is more exact step by step directions.

rodger that...

could be you need to break lose the goo in the starter...

what i do is put it in 2nd gear... key off... clutch in... roll it backwards... pop the clutch while rolling backwards... do that 5 times...

key on... is the headlight on... if so hit the start button...

let us know...
