k1100rs seat questions
« on: July 21, 2013, 02:10:37 PM »
my 95' k1100rs has the stock seat which is comfort wise it seems like an ok position for me, when my lady and i ride two up she is crashing into me. my other issue is that it would be nice if the seat were ever so slightly more narrow for me and/or maybe slightly lower to make it easier to put my feet flat on the ground. i have seen some of the OEM comfort seats floating around and also some Corbin seats(most look like the dual sport model) as well. both look more comfortable and will most likely help with the sliding issue. can anyone comment on the height of either of these seats?

I don't know much but I replaced the original seat of my K75 with a BMW's comfort saddle and that gave more space for the passenger. And it's much better on longer rides.

(The original black one looks better than this used grey comfort saddle so I'll get it recovered with some better color than grey.)

My wife and I had the same passenger sliding issue with the stock seat.  The Corbin Dual Canyon worked well to solve that problem.

the corbins are pretty nice as far as comfort goes. just ordered one and will be updating my project thread tomorrow after a good bath for the lady!I got the 87 corbin dual sport canyon and it is verryyyy comfortable. I haven't even broken it in yet! the ergonomics of the seat actually don't put you any closer to the ground and if anything I would say it raises you atleast half an inch to a inch higher because of the position of your buttocks. I haven't yet ridden on the new seat with a passenger but the passenger section looks a bit wider but with less length. I love the corbin so far!
