Transmission Curses
« on: July 17, 2013, 07:44:35 PM »
Dealt with a leak in the tranny, replaced all its seals, added a shim to the front ABS sensor and a new clutch cable. Put humpty-brick all back together again and now dealing with a bike that turns over but won't start. Got wet plugs think it's flooded. Will try to get new plugs i the morn. Double checked all the grounds, it wouldn't hurt to triple check...and to think there was a cabin by a lake with a cold beer waiting had it started.

UPDATE: replaced the plugs, no luck. Going to check the fuses today, also the fuel pump. Plugs seem to be getting gas but I want to be certain the pump is still 'whirrrling' it makes the click noise because I don't hear that funny zaap sound after turning the key on. Might just be there's too much fuel in the tank to hear it. Last but not least I'll double check all the grounds I undid.

Check your side stand switch ;)

Thanks Grim. I did. Seems to be 'clicking' when the side-stand drops and goes up. Might spray it with contact cleaner or just cut it and splice it if it comes to that. From what I saw of Ducks old trick of eliminating the SSswitch is simply splice the two wires together and it cancels it out. Sound right? Have you done yours? I'm not an electrical guru.
