Check any of the other electrical connections for oxidation and such, especially the large multi-pin connector at the jetronic controller.
You may also want to check the relays in the relay box, to make sure their contacts are clean and are seated in the sockets tight.
The fuel pump only gets power as the motor is turning. Possibly the HES sensors aren't sensing rotation to have the jetronic unit send signal to the pump relay.
You could try and power the pump directly with some jumper wires just to make sure you don't have a bum pump(even if it's new it can be bad).

So what was the outcome?  Did you have a loose connection or other issue?

If you are getting spark at the plugs when the motor is turning then I don't think you HES sensors would be bad, as they also trigger the spark timing.

When you say that you took the tank to a shop, they checked the pump using the tank side of the pigtail connector, right? Have you check the bike side of that connection? That 4 pin connector has had a history of going bad.

thanks for your reply the garage checked tank wiring that's all good the 4 pin connecter on the bike has no power on the yellow wire

The yellow wire is the signal to the fuel guage, power to the fuel pump is the green/white wire.

If you don't have any power (for a couple of seconds when pushing the starter button) at this wire,
measure at fuse 6....which is earlier, along the same path.

I would guess that your FI relay don't receive a ground signal............

when I connected the tank back up to the bike after having it tested there was no petrol being pumped through  that's why I thought the yellow wire was for the pump as it was dead if no power going through that wire would it switch power of to the pump?
