Interesting. I did the swap of the 4pin tank lead (soldered in a trailer connector). 3 days later things, started to get weird. Bike would not restart after a run 50% of time. Some times pump but no spark. Sometimes lights would go out. Sometimes nothing but click and no juice anywhere. Finally enlisted a pro and tracked down bad brushes in starter motor. Was causing intermitent shorts/fluctations across several systems (pump, motronic, load shed relay, alternator, ignition). $15 in parts later all is right with the world again. Go figure...
