need to flash?
« on: May 31, 2013, 07:15:33 AM »
i am probably about 2 weeks from getting her back on the road after numerous maint items etc... but i was thinking( could be dangerous)... since the computer has set idle since last fall i was just making sure it did not need to be flashed or whatever before firing the bike up. I am hoping not but just checking whats needed after a long break.  thanks!

Computer will be fine...
Just make sure your battery has a full charge before you try and start it.

There's nothing to flash. It doesn't store any data, just responds to sensors in real time.

And, don't believe anyone who tells you to run the bike to the redline and hold it there for 30 seconds or longer to "reset" the brain.  The boxes used on K75, K100 and K1100 don't reset.  All you do is prove the circuitry for the rev limiter is functioning.
You can't help someone who doesn't want to hear the answer.
