Did it to mine last year, works like a charm. I got the LT control head but haven't put it in yet.

One problem surfaced on a more extended trip Saturday. It won't hold a speed greater than ~ 65 mph. My first thought is the servo is running out of travel, which means I may have too much slack in the chain at the zero position. Only other thing I can think of would be it is not getting enough vacuum at the higher speeds necessary to maintain the more extreme throttle position. Thoughts???

Checking the chain is easy. Make sure it is not getting
hung up on something if chain has a lot of play.
Next might be the vacuum. Did you install
the check valve in the vacuum line? Mine works fine
without the canister so maybe a loose connection.

Higher speeds = more vacuum.

I'd guess it's a chain issue or something.

Could also be the PPM setting. You can try raising it.

I doubt that's it. I've used the same setting on every one that I've installed.

I read of that problem on a miata: Couldn't go over 52 mph without upping the setting. Easy to check too, even if it is not the likely cause.

I am thinking of making a cruise control as a project (to learn avr programming). I plan to use an arduino/avr microcontroller, and a large model aircraft servo motor, or a stepper motor. Should be able to make a much smaller form factor, for under 30 dollars and a bit of time.

I have been thinking of making my now obsolete radio remote in to the cruise controls for sometime now but can't find it in the radio wiring diagrams. Anyone know a source for the radio remote wiring diagrams?
I would make the seek buttons the on/off and volume button accel/coast functions.
Clymers does the radio but not the remote.

Could someone give me some clarification on where the blue wire connects to? From the ducks' instructions "connect to outer wire on rear coil".

Just making sure I tap the correct wire here. Thx!

Each coil has a two wire connector attached to the bottom of it. Tap the blue wire into the outer wire of the rear coil. The outer one is the one closest to you.

This is on a K75 but it's the same deal:

Just in cause you didn`t find your ohm meter.........or still have some resistance against using it.

No idea, just download whatever could become useful, but don`t keep in record where everything is found.
Often much of these things is found just by coincidence, when searching for something else.

Yes, having the diagram at hand usually makes it a bit easier..........on the connector you have a NC pin
.................and sit there measuring................what the f... is the use for this pin.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm having a heckuva time figuring out where to put the servo that doesn't require major surgery to either the tail cowl, side fairing, etc. I have the stock seat - just gotta be a place where the servo can go that just works. Has anyone put it between the air box and the radiator - without it sitting on top of the block? Just looking for ideas .. appreciate any suggestions... :dunno2:

That's where I put mine and just zip tied it in place. Been there for 3 or 4 years now.

Thank you! Any chance you could fire a photo of that puppy and where you routed the cable? Seems like the best place, minus the heat. :yes
