rolling 0800 hundert hours to the elusive tioga pass... been waiting on this since last year when we missed it by 1 weekend...



the route... straight forward... the 120 and only the 120 to whoa nelly deli and back... should be 100% yeeeeeehaaaaaaaa since it just opened and school is still in session...

we rode over from tracy ca... its 200 miles from here... makes it about a 500 mile day for us... butts we come to ride... and ride we shall...

next week we are in the san jose area of california... and memorial weekend we are still in the san jose area...

after that we are off to orogoon and warshington and wont be back to california till sptember...

tracy ca is as close as we get to the sierra passes... its f-ed up... butts thats the way it is...

Yosemite:

1) you were correct to avoid the valley, very sketchy stop and go riding among the highly distracted, all happy to crush you while looking at El Cap.

2) if you take the road to Glacier Point, maybe go uber early in the day, it's a road made for motorcycling.  If you do what I did and go at 2PM, you will be stuck behind an RV staring at a "Good Sam" sticker, going 8MPH, weeping and gnashing your teeth for the shame of it.

On my way out, I was on E fuel in the valley, thinking "No prob, I remember from camping here in 1975 there's a gas station ..." Nope.  Some flood made NPS remove fuel from the valley, and I coasted out of the Sierras to the glow of my yellow low fuel indicator.  It was a _long_ bit before the juice could be obtained I seem to recall...
