Windshield on K75S

Hey guys,
I recently got a 1993 K75S with stock/original windshield and would like to cut down on the buffeting on my helmet and maybe a little more protection from the wind.  Has any one tried the Laminar Lip or another wind shield that might work better then stock?

Along the same lines -- and I hope I'm not thread-hijacking, as my question is a lot like Larry's, but not quite the same -- I wonder if anyone could comment from experience on the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of the after-market windshields from National Cycle? They have two that fit the K75 -- the smallish Deflector Screen and the enormish Plexistar.

I have a Laminar Lip and it does work. 
The hardest problem is picking what height to mount the dumb thing.  My first height was too high and I didn't like looking through it so after I re-glued the stickers lower I now have old glue at the first location which I can't get off.

Aeroflow still make one for the S.  You can order different heights (I think) and tinted or clear.  Never tried the laminar lip but like the Aeroflow.

I've tried the L. lip, it does help, but in my experience, only slightly. Last year the mounting buttons came off mine and it's been sitting in a box ever since, and I've been relying on really good ear plugs, and a relatively quite FF helmet.
From the reading I've done, people who have the best luck with them are under 6 feet tall (I am 6'1"). If I were doing it over, I'd probably skip the lip and get an Aeroflow.
Another thing that does help slightly is to put spacers under windshield's upper mounting holes, which makes the shield a little more upright. If you google around there is a detailed write-up someone in the UK did.

Somewhat out in left field,  I do have a Plexistar 2 and it's a great foul weather/winter windshield.  Only it's on my Ural, not my K75s. The mounting system is pretty flexible, I suppose it could fit an unfaired K.  Nice thing it comes off with 4 screws when I want the bugs in teeth experience.  I rode it all winter this year, the hand coverage kept me comfortable in 20 degree temps with no electric warmers, just good ski mitts.

I have the Aeroflow smoked and it was a huge improvement over the OEM windshield.

works for me. It's about three inches taller than the original screen and the wind buffeting on my chest and helmet is far less pronounced. The bug season hasn't really started in Northern Europe yet, but so far my helmet visor is absolutely clean while the screen has squashed a couple of bugs. The air is deflected over the top of my helmet. I'm about 178 cm tall.

The small "winglets" protruding above the flashers do a good job of deflecting the air from the handlebars. I have not done any riding in the rain yet, but I'm sure that my gloves will stay dry for much longer, even in a downpour.


My only regret is that I was too impatient to wait till Motor Works had the tinted version back in stock.

That Motor Works screen looks really nice.
Looks like it's cut to avoid interference with the mirrors?
It looks to be an inch or two taller than the stock screen with the Laminar Lip would be.

I found my Aeroflow dirt cheap on Ebay, I put out wtb notices on IBMWR, here, MOA, and someone alerted me to the one up for auction.  Patients pays off!

Parabellum also make a windshield for the K75S 


Put a new Parabellum on my K75RT it is a big improvement over stock for wind deflection and noise
