Bob and Amy,
Thank GOD you and Amy are ok.

Valerie and I had a great time riding with everyone and getting to know the group.  We are very much looking forward to next years event. We will be doing recon for more roads for next year, much like the back roads we hit Sunday morning.

Hawk and Val

Well we stopped in New Glaurus and demanded to know why they are not selling Fat Squirrel year round.  They said sales were low and they had to store it at a different temperature from the rest of their beer, so it was taking up a whole warehouse.  They thought it would be out in the fall as a seasonal.

Ok, our turn here for a few pics. I won't post them all, but I will post a link at the end where you can view the entire album at Photobucket.

Started by arriving at the Friday night meet spot. All we found were lonely bikes, but not for long. We stepped into the restaurant for dinner and were promptly joined by others.

Saturday morning came with our "pre-ride" meeting, also while waiting for Dave and Valerie.

And then off we go.......

With Johnny bringing up the rear at sweep.

Our breakfast stop.

Johnny's been talking about pork loins, so heeeerrrreeeeessss Johnny!!!!

and some of the rest of the food....

Rolling out on some Iowa countryside, on the way to ride some Wisconsin twisty roads....

Heading up the Great River Road to cross The Big Muddy....

Yep, pink elephants too.

On our way now, the road surface wasn't the best, but hey, at least they aren't as flat and straight as where I come from......

Some road construction took us on some detours, and even managed to cause someone to "give back to mother earth...."

Then came a lunch stop. Spotted a horse hide that my wife really tried to get the owner to sell, but they said no...

Then there was the food.

A group shot with all of us in front of the camera for a change....

Time to take a break, walk, relax......

Most of us stayed here Saturday night.

Getting ready Sunday morning to head out for what ended up being brunch......

And also where most of us all parted ways for our rides back home.

For those that want to see the rest of the pics, here's the link for the whole album.

Holy moly, i just realized that jaimito rides with his feet on the passenger's pegs. i knew he was tall, but i never thought about how much he needed to crunch up to ride.

This is a follow up to the great ride we shared this summer.   The Northern Illinois Motorad group has a ride Saturday from Woodstock to Kenosha.   The normally do a ride every weekend there isn't a rally.  Saturday out of Woodstock, IL.    Sign up for their ride notifications by visiting their website.
http://illinoisbmwriders.com/  There rides are as good as we can have in Chicagoland.  Good people   Andres, Rich  and Bob  try to do their Saturday rides.  (Ok not Rich,  he is a work-aholic)
They don't post their Saturday rides more than a week in advance, sometimes less notice so check the website every week, tell them "Uncle Jim" sent me.   There is a Missouri Rally in Oct.  All on website.
