Age Old Shock Question
« on: February 10, 2013, 11:32:52 PM »
As I excitedly await my first chance to bring the Warbird out of hibernation I've been going over a checklist of things to do to make sure it's a happy summer.

One of those things is the shock. The fact of the matter is that it's shot and just riding on the spring and I need a new one. I've been wavering between a Progressive 412 and 465. What I want to know is, is the 465 worth the extra $150 dollars?

Why not consider one of these shocks:

About $260 U.S. + s&h

I have one on my '95 right now and I really like it. I'm considering leaving it on and not rebuilding my Ohlins.....

What he said.

Aftermarket Shock Options

If you're looking for a used Progressive in good condition then I will have one up for sale here on Thursday.

Get the Realm shock, you will NOT be sorry.

If money is tight, I have a stock shock from a 93 K1100RS with 38,000 you can have.

I can ship it to you, or bring it to Hungry Mother park just outside Marion, VA the first week of May when I am there
hanging out & riuding around.

 Peace  out.

I'd rather be riding.

I hadn't looked at the Realm because I didn't realize was that cheap. I will stongly consider that.

I would say +2 on Realm, I bought one this winter, only have 300 miles on it, but love it.

If you go Realm then be sure to tell them what your "normal" riding load will be (rider, passenger, baggage.)  They can optimize the spring rate for that which will get it very dialed in for you.

Looks good too, subdued, but custom, not too garish.

Still looks ood with the wheels powder coated black.

I'd rather be riding.
