HIR headlights?

Supposedly you can swap them in as direct replacements and they generate about 75% as much light as HID but without having to deal with ballasts and such.

Anybody here have hands-on experience with them?

Do they even make them in H4?

Last I saw, they were 9005 & 9006 only. Something about having a second element/filament being a problem for the design. If I'm wrong here or have out dated info, please correct me.


As per your question:
I don't have any hands on experience but have been looking and waiting to see how they progress. Hope your thread turns something up.

Why?
I'm hoping for an alternative to HID's that can put an end to the OMG!!USHLDTOTLYGOHIDTHEYRSOAMAZING cult.
(Keep hoping that Texas will declare open season  :yes :machinegun: on the A**holes that illegally retro-fit their lights with HID's without switching to DOT legal projector lenses.) Such retro-fits are a serious hazard to other drivers safety and sanity :loco: .

 Also, imo, if VisionPlus Halogens + Driving lights don't provide enough light at legal speeds for the driver to see, then said drivers might should:
A) have their eyes checked
B)slow down
C)or not drive at night.
I know this makes me sound horribly judgemental, its just that I'm just tired of having my night vision ruined by the illegal HID kits.

Yeah, they have them in the H4 socket but still no hi-low dual filament bulbs, even though they post dual wattages. :confused:
The adds make it look like the bulbs are dual beam until you read close. The dual wattage is when they are teamed with a 9007 bulb on dual headlight system. :dunno Whatchya gonna do?

Guess it depends on whether you want to run around all of the time pumping out their claimed equilalent of 90+ watts of light(that the canadian ones). The asian ones claim an equivalent of 135 watts.

Personally, I like the flexibility of having both high and low beams but thats just me.

Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't read the fine print. 

I guess there's no such thing as a true dual beam H4 in HIR.  Oh well.

Still an interesting technology though.  Might be interesting for an H3 aux light upgrade.....

If you are looking for a good quality LED Headlights replacement in H4, go to http://www.advmonster.com I have one in my Kwaka and have relays to get full power, it is 2400 lumens on high or low.

If you want a good HID set up in different bulb styles, go to http://www.ddmtuning.com not only do they manufacture their own products, they are good people.
