ISP
« on: May 16, 2011, 05:44:33 PM »
Cable dude came out today, buried about 200' of high vis, high freaking speed cable and hooked us up to the 21st century. We're blazing fast now.
Adios to old ISP, SkyNet, whose service ran from blazing fast to dial up speed. His mailbox was always full...complainers (like me) torching his phone lines...He never sent us a bill....Trudy always paid on time...then he'd try to tack on a late fee for non payment the next month.

So we went from 1.5Mbps (allegedly) to 5Mbps. Same price. No more waiting for YouTube vids to load....they just play, what a concept...viruses, no waiting....bam, they're on our computer.

Hi vis?  Is that so cars don't pull left turns in front of it?

(Are you sure you didn't mean fiber optic? ::)
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

I hope the High VIS fiber is in the air not on the ground.

It is orange so the backhoes can see it easier, to dig it up instead of what they should be digging up.

I'd be sadly disappointed if you can't get over 5Mb on fiber......a long run of coax, I could see a 5Mb limit.

fiber should be 10meg easily if not there is something wrong with the carrier/ISP.  You could put neon sighns above the fiber and it will still get wacked there like backho maginets.

It's SuddenLinks deal. The main office is somewhere in Texas but locally Osburn ID. I was going to bundle TV with it and get rid of Dish until she informed me they don't have high def yet, if that tells you anything.
