Mobil 1 Synthetic 15w-50 sale until 10/15
« on: October 03, 2012, 10:35:18 AM »
AutoZone has got a deal until the middle of October.

5 Quarts of Mobil-1 Synthetic 15W-50 plus a Mobil-1 Oil Filter = $38

They sell the filter for $12 separately, so that puts the sale price of the oil at about $5.20/qt.

My local store had just one Mobil-1 filter to fit the K bike in stock.

Here in North America, where I call home, I wonder if 15w50 is the best weight oil to use in the fall.  I think that is what I have in my K100RS now, and haven't ridden enough miles yet to justify an oil change.
If I continue to ride most of the winter, should I dump that and refill with a lighter grade?

I'm running Castrol syntec 5w-50. Cheap and has lots of zzdp. Newly formulated specifically for flat tappet engines. And I am doing more short trips, so low cold viscocity is nice.

Not to start an "oil thread" again.............
