Gag, the front face will probably fit, dunno what to attach it on though, but the sides are designed to fit with the topfairing. So they won't fit flush with the tank. As the k75rt has a bigger rad and tank from the k100 the normal k75 naked rad surround and sides will not fit so you would have to find the k100 surrounds and sides, wich are made of unobtainium or so it seems. All this can be found through google or on this here site. Hell even in this thread...

Tim said in one of his posts that his new radiator shroud came from a K100, so it will be interesting to hear what he has to say on how he fit his because his seems to fit well. It looks like it was made for his bike.

Where did you find those guard things on the handlebars?

TimTyler anyway I could see a photo of how you adapted those handlebar guards to your controls?

I love your setup too, it's something close to what I'm shooting for. Are LTD handlebars maybe what your looking for?

Also, thanks for showing the brand of cases- I'm planning on doing some traveling and buying those later on

These are made specifically for the K75. I'll check to see if they fit the K100 and K1100.

The hand guards are a direct fit on the K75 and the K100, not on the K1100. They bolt to the mirror holes. Of course, no clearance for the RT and LT faring.

Upon searching the parts fiche, these are OEM 71 60 2 315 870. They show up under a R100GS-PD parts listing but in the notes it says they will fit K75 with conventional mirrors.

Doesn't matter. They're discontinued and impossible to order from BMW anymore.

ooh.  I like the look of that windscreen.  I wonder if it would mount on my stock naked k75.

Well, it's been five years since I started stripping bits and pieces off the RT version of the bike, and this week I've gone almost as far as I can. The rear Hepco-Becker rack, HappyTrail tragkorbs and top box are gone. The windscreen is gone. Hand guards are gone. USB connectors and RAM mounts have been removed too. I don't expect to do anymore long-distance touring with the K75 so why not turn it into a fun local ride?

I auditioned a few waterproof cases I had laying around and the Seahorse SE-540 fit best. I took the PVC tool tube off the bottom of the HappyTrail tragkorb and attached it behind the case. A good fit and easy access for tools. Added a cheap combo-LED light to the case, and pulled the Custom Dynamics LB03 Brake Light Bar off the old top box and double-stick-taped it to the tool tube. Cut off the rear half of the rear wheel fender to make room for the case. Hope I don't have clearance problems.

Installed a new rear tire today and lubed the final drive splines. Took it out for a ride towards the end of the day and had a ball. The first few miles on WA-8 doing 60mph without a wind shield were jolting. The front end felt light but I got used to it after a while. Since the rear tire was fresh I went easy on the turns, and since it was deer-o-clock I kept my speed reasonable too.

As you might expect this lighter bike is more maneuverable and nimble at slower speeds and has more oomph when called upon. It's still my favorite bike. Glad I brought it back from RI.

Are photos no longer displayed in a message post, or is it just me? I just see file links.

There's a new arrangement. This is how I adapted to it for modifying old posts.

Select Modify over your post then go to the Attachments and other options section below the reply box. You'll see your attachments in an Attached list. Click your cursor within your text where you want to place the first image, go to the image in the list then click (Insert Attachment 1). If the image label doesn't appear in your post, the blinking cursor disappears from the reply box, and the check in the box next to your attachment line disappears. it's because you're in WYSIWYG mode. Move your cursor up to the tool bar, click on the icon with the blue arrow within red brackets, return to your attachment, click on check box next to your attachment to restore it in the list, then click on (Insert Attachment 1) again. The image now should appear in the reply box as a label. Repeat clicking the cursor where you want each image, clicking the insert command for each image and when finished inserting images, Save the modified reply.

Thanks, Laitch. I'd say this is an improvement. More formatting options.

:2thumbup: Lookin' good! You may want to re-think the windshield bit, but looks great for local rides. Ride around on it for a bit and then re-assess?  :curvy-road

I particularly like the first picture (the post-apocalypse industrial vibe is neat with that bike) and the moon shot.

Tim, she looks great!

I can't stop looking at the seat.  It fits perfectly into the lines of the rest of the bike and is still comfortable enough to do 1000 miles or more at a stretch.  The functionality of everything and the grey color are frosting on the cake.  Even the much maligned instrument cluster looks right.

There is not the slightest bit of cappuccino poser vibe to be found anywhere near this bike.

Will the K100 radiator shroud on Tim's bike fit on a '96 K1100RS?
