Front Brake MC - Rubber Boot
« on: September 17, 2012, 12:06:23 AM »
Was putting some risers on the '86 K75C and while the handle bars were laying across the tank, the MC started leaking from the top.  I thought that was odd since I had just replaced the rubber boot the weekend before (old one was ripped).

After buttoning everything back up, I took the top off the MC and looked at the boot.  It looked fine......However......

Is this boot/seal/expansion gasket supposed to go all the way to the edge of the cap?  It appears to leave a gap so the MC reservoir housing would fit into between the boot and the edge of the cover.  It doesn't make sense to me.

Not sure if this is clear what I am asking.  But if you can follow, I would appreciate some guidance.

Here's some pics of mine, looks like it's close to the edge without quite touching it.  Enough that the top edge of the MC seals on it.
