New project arrived today
« on: September 11, 2012, 09:19:11 PM »
HELP   :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

This is going to require time, mechanical expertise and $$$.  Hopefully, my vision will become reality  :bmwsmile.  I have gifted mechanical and cosmetic assistance.  I have time,  sold my airhead to fund this project, but after doing an initial clean and inspection, this is going to need ALOT of work.
EVERYTHING needs to be gone over.
I guess it was expected.

1986 K100RS with Luftmeister turbo, nonrunning for a few years.  Let the work begin...

Not sure about expertise on the turbo side but with K bikes there is a wealth of experience and information here

Personally, I would consider removing the turbo, get the bike running, then put the turbo back on. But, that is just me. I have been known to do

things the most difficult way possible.

Years ago I got to ride a Jap bike with a turbo. It was something called a XN 85. One QUICK machine!

Please keep us posted about your progress. Good luck.

Yeah. There may be some logic to pulling the turbo, getting it running, then putting it back on.

How is it set up? Stock ECU?
