Clutch Cable Question
« on: August 26, 2012, 02:35:26 PM »
I need a new clutch cable for my 1993 BMW K75.  Unfortunatly, BMW has 2 cables listed, and I have no idea which of the two to purchase.  The first, part #32 73 232 4955 is 1510mm and the second, part # 32 73 232 4960 is 1625mm.  I have just completed lubing the clutch splines and also replacing the rubber boot on the back side of the xmission (old one torn).  Try as I may, I can't get the old cable properly adjusted, even with following the Clymer mannual to the letter.  The bike has 43,000 miles and I am the 4th owner.  Any help / advice is most appreciated.  Thanks!

If it hasn't worn off your old cable will have the part number printed on it.  When you remove it tie some wire to it to pull the new one through along the same path.

Thanks!  I have the longer one on my bike.  Now I'm wondering why BMW would sell 2 different length cables.
