Saw a K1 with only 5K on it today!

My K1 needs a new seat. The old one is a) a fairly uncomfortable stock K seat and b) has about 80k on it and is showing it's age. It's usable but needed to be replaced.
Saw an ad over at the IBMWR Marketplace from a guy in Puyallup (30 miles south of me)who had a couple of decent Corbin K1 seats for sale. So I went down there and bought them.
Under a cover in his garage he's got a very nice blue w/ silver markings K1 with only 5k on it! :yow

That bike would fetch a lot more than I'd ever be willing to pay. Bikes like that are for collectors, not riders.
And I already own a K1 that I swapped a bunch of newer parts into and have running "like new." K1s are pretty rare but I've never seen one like mine:
But I did get a good deal on the two K1 Corbins. I've had my eye out for a good seat for that bike since I got it in April of last year. Very cool that my patience paid off and I found a couple of good ones locally. :2thumbup:

I didn't even see the whole thing. He's got it stuffed behind a bunch of other crap under a cover in the garage and hasn't ridden it in a couple of years. He lifted the cover off of the back of it to let me take a peek.
He's got a 12GS as his daily rider so the reason it doesn't have many miles on it is because he doesn't ever ride it.

The stocker is "OK" with an Alaska butt pad.
Yeah, amazingly lucky to find not one, but two, of them in decent condition - and local to boot. I don't imagine there are too many of them in existence and Corbin doesn't make them anymore.

Did you happen to see the fleabay one in WI a few weeks back? Black on black. Super clean; just wanted too much $$ for it, upwards of 5k if I remember.

Since there weren't a lot produced/sold 20 years ago, a lot of them end up being collector bikes. Not to mention that given the storage they're not great LD touring bikes. The one I have had 77k on it when I bought it. I'm sure there are higher mile ones out there but high mile ones are somewhat rare IMO. Not that 77k is high mile for a K bike though.....
