I'm swapping rear shocks between my bikes -- a 88 K100RT and 87 K75C. Went to fit the RAM rear shock to the K75C and discovered that the frame receptical is an eyelet pipe and not a pair of plates, as on the K100 frame. The old shock has a fork upper mount and an eyelet lower mount.
The existing shock has mounts along these lines:

The RAM shock looks like this:

What are my options here for installing the RAM shock? Will this require cutting out the existing eyelet pipe and welding on a pair of steel plates in place of the eyelet pipe? It may or may not be important to know that I'm planning for an upgrade to a Paralever rear drive in the future, as that decision will require a 4V shock installation.
