Chop that bike and I hope the German gods chop you.  Restore and find a proper home for it if it is not for you.

Rode up to the Rhinebeck (NY) motorcycle show yesterday. Wow lots of Harleys. Saw a variety of interesting R bikes in all stages of disintegration, but mine was the only K there (that I saw).

I happened to be leaving same time as the guy on the old Gold Wing parked next to me. "How many carburetors on that thing?" he asked me.

I love this bike. I'd really like to change the cluster and handle bars in the future.

I love this bike. I'd really like to change the cluster and handle bars in the future.

Watch for a pair of S / RS bars at Beemer Boneyard or the IBMWR marketplace. An easy mod except you also need to replace the front brake line that connects the master cylinder to the tube that runs through the steering head.

There's a nice summary of K handlebars here, but sadly the photos have disappeared:

Today is my birthday so I rode my LT to breakfast. Been riding since I was 11 and 45 years later I still enjoy it as much as that first ride on a Honda CL160.

Addiction started with:

a nice solid K bike, 22,000 miles

Didn't care for the fairing or the vibration, so sold it and started looking for a K75

Found this one:
37,000 miles, full recent service, new Michelins, BMW system cases(top & sides), engine bars

Upsized to the Givi rack w/ a 49L Shad case

thought I was set until that same night this popped up locally...
all stock and original, unmolested, low miles, non-abs(which I prefer)

check out the mileage, yes, it's correct

check out the pipes close to the engine-

also, check the end of the exhaust & original tires still have the nubby things...

Now to bring the maintenance up to date... splines, new tires, etc...

Wife asks: "is that a new one?"
I'm not sure how to answer, lol

As long as they're all red, and you don't park them too close to each other, you might get away with it . . . for a while.

I didn't know those were low seats, I wouldn't mind trying a regular height seat if anyone would like to trade, or if there is one available.
Thanks
