Fork clamp adjustment and handlebar risers k100rt
« on: July 22, 2012, 06:32:01 PM »
The previous owner of my k bike was shorter and lowered the bike by loosening the clamps and sliding down the forks about .75". He also has handle bar risers (the best I can describe them) and they are just two blocks of metal that raise the handle bars and ignition panel. Is there anything special I need to do to change these items? Can I just loosen the clamps while the bike is on the center stand and slide the forks down without removing the front wheel and then torque back up? Thanks for the help

Put it on the centerstand, loosen the fork clamps and slide the tubes flush with the top clamp.  You should be able to take off the bar risers easily, you will need to purchase shorter bolts since the risers need longer ones.  Cable length shouldn't be a problem.  Should be able to sell the risers for $50 on IBMWR, fleabay or craigslist.
