Hi, New here with a question...
« on: July 01, 2012, 11:40:48 PM »
I have recently bought a 1989 K100RS. My 2nd BMW first was an R1100GS. My question is "what is the tank made of as my magnetic tank bag wont stick to it :).

Cheers Andy.

Aluminium and it is a real pain in the A as you need to get a genuine bag so it fastens well or do what I have done and that is to glue some steel discs to the tank where the bag magnets go. I used some good quality double sided tape and painted the discs the same color as the tank.

I'm using a suction cup mounted tankbag. Holds really nice. Clean the areas for the cups with isopropyl alcohol, and then use the tiniest bit of dielectric/silicone grease (or if you have access, vacuum grease) on the cup.

Strap on a Bags Connection Enduro model, and spare yourself worrying about whether you used enough glue.

What's wrong with spit?  :dunno
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.
