Bar-end weights; pros/cons
« on: June 27, 2012, 02:22:57 PM »
I'm going to fit handlebars for a K1100RS to my K100RS.  The latter currently has heavy stainless bar-ends that do a fine job of damping vibes.  The K1100RS bars won't accept these, so I'm casting about for alternatives.  I note that BMW OEM bar-ends are reasonably priced (must be someone's oversight) and I wonder if users of them are satisfied with their performance. Would I be better served if I were to buy aftermarket bar-end weights for the K1100RS bars?  Incidentally, I'm not interested in a throttle locker sort of bar-end; I've never felt the need for one.
TIA for your counsel.

Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.
