The clutch switch that allows you to start the bike when not in neutral gets a lot of use (every time you change gears) and will eventually wear out. It's recessed in the clutch perch assembly and can be difficult to remove.
Since the old one is bad just cut the wiring from it. Then use a screwdriver to tear the rubber off it. Ideally you'll want a deep well 11mm socket to remove it but once you have the rubber off you can usually just use some needlenose pliers to unscrew it.
