dropped the K :/ , need a brake lever
« on: February 19, 2012, 05:37:44 PM »
Unfortunately, I dropped my K today. Guess I was half asleep when I was trying to put it on the center stand when it tipped over to its right side.  :embarass: Of course the brake lever curled like a puffy cheese doodle. Does anyone have an extra brake lever they can sell or know where I can find one on line? I can't find any on ebay. I don't care for the bmw brand as long as it's a lever. Is there a brake lever that can be cross referenced as a replacement? Thanks.

You need to have the genuine one, unless you`re a handy person which like to spend
a lot of time to modifying parts.

I've got one with some very light scraping on the end.  It's one of the newer ones with a set screw where it pushes on the master cylinder which gives you a little bit of adjustment.  Drop me an email if interested.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

The magura ones can often be straightened without issue. Give it a try. Use a pipe, wrap in a rag, and be slow.

Bending aluminum alloys isn't a great idea given how brittle aluminum is.  Bending something back is worse and will usually break or weaken it.

Definitely a potential. For whatever reason, the magura levers are more tolerant than most. Snowbum recommends trying it.  But definitely tread carefully, and check for weakness.

I've busted them trying to straighten them.  That's how I know.

Ok, I wasn't able to find your email address through your profile. Here is mine (email removed, avoiding spambots- thanks duck!). Drop me a line and we will take it from there. Thanks.
